Casual Friday Vol 2

Happy Friday everyone!

It has been a full week around here as I’m prepping for another travel season. I’m heading to the coast for a few days and then to Seattle the following week. Preparation and getting ahead always seems like a huge feat, regardless of how much I plan. (Have any tips or tricks? Please let me know!) Today I’m sharing a few behind the scenes photos of life and the blog the past few weeks.

Keep reading for all the photos after the jump!

This week I headed back to Lema Ranch for evening walks. It is one of my favorite places in Redding. Whether running on the trails or walking the simple 2 mile loop, it allows me to clear my head and maintain a bit of work-life balance, while taking care of myself. That and the views at sunset, phenomenal.

It’s July which means it’s stone fruit season. If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ll notice I have a slight obsession with grilled peaches at the moment. These guys evolved into a few recipes. The Grilled Peaches with honey goat cheese and berry sauce from Camille Styles is amazing and now a summer dessert favorite. Last Sunday, grilled peaches showed up at brunch with this recipe of whole wheat pancakes, lemon curd whipping cream, and raw almonds from Design Love Fest. Needless to say, I’m smitten with these fresh fruit morsels.

Tuesday was my day off this week and it was time for a bit of lake life. I headed to Lake Shasta with some friends and we played for the morning along the Sacramento River arm, with views of Mt. Shasta. It might have taken a few days to recover from stiffness and sunburn, but it was well worth it.

Ahhh…Whiskeytown at golden hour. It’s a favorite location to shoot in town. However, during our shoot a few weeks ago, these geese. They clearly wanted their close-up as well and kept waddling into the frame! I’ve gotten really good at taking pictures, swatting off mosquitos, and yelling at geese at the same time. All in a day’s work. (The things they don’t tell you in design school.)

A final shot of Whiskeytown. It’s becoming on of my favorite places in Redding. Close, pristine blue water, surrounded by mountains, and absolutely beautiful. This weekend’s goal? Kayaking on Whiskeytown Sunday evening. We’re going to make it happen.

Just in case you missed it, here are this week’s posts: My Summer Makeup Picks, Layered Hummus Dip, and What’s in my Bag.

What are you up to this weekend?
