NEW SEASON

With every change in weather, I find that there is a shifting in my heart and mind as well. This fall has been of trying to figure out work-life balance and emotional health. Throughout the past few months, there have been multiple heart checks. What does rest look like in a super busy season? What does time management look like? How do I have joy and a heart posture of rest through the hustle and daily grind? Where are priorities?

With this fall, there are a few things I’m going after.

-Hiring out tasks. This is real, but an assistant is happening for 10-20 hours a week.
-Taking breaks. With 14-16 hour days, taking breaks to eat and decompress as I move from one task to the next is necessary and vital. This usually means taking a few deep breaths and intentionally collecting my thoughts as I move from a work shift into class, one the class to the next, and then back to work for the evening. I’m learning this is apart of self-care and will only become more necessary as the seasons of life change.
-People to run with and celebrate your wins.
– Wholeheartedness.
This one is a super big deal and something I’m still in the process of figuring out.
– What are the top priorities? What are my essentials and non-negotiables? Where do I want to be in 5-10 years? How do I fill my days with things that move me toward that goal? Am I staying busy solely for the sake of busyness? What do I really want?

This is where I’m at currently. What are some of the things you’re going after? I’d love to hear from you! Let me know in the comments below.
