With July 4th here, there’s always the interesting challenge of what to wear. Most likely whatever you wear today will need to evolve, from day to night, from hiking to somewhere with water. Wherever today’s holiday may find you, we’ve come up with four simple looks you’ll absolutely love. They look festive without looking like a firecracker. And if you’re still stumped, just wear a great red lip, denim, and a white tee. It’s classic and with a neutral hoodie for cooler temps in fireworks, it’s great for any activity you might find. (Not to mention looking timeless for photos year from now.)

What to Wear: July 4th

Look 1:

I love this look for it’s casual and effortless style. While I’ve been hesitant to hop onto the bandana trend, after spending a week in the national parks last week, I’m #teambandana. You can wear it as a simple scarf to protect your neck from the sun, as a headband, or wrapped around a top knot. Regardless of what you choose, it’s a great throwback and you can feel like Rosie the Riveter.

Look 2:

This is an updated take on denim and one I absolutely adore. With a looser short, comfort is the name of the game with this look. Paired with a lacey bralette, the look is light and effortless.

Look 3:

I love this look as the perfect way to hang out poolside throughout the day (particularly if you’ll be around kiddos.) It can function as both a pool coverup and dress throughout the rest of the day. If you’re staying out of the water, I love to pair this lip with a favorite red lip. (I swear by Cruella by Nars. It has a stunning blue undertone that works well with my skintone and keeps my teeth looking super white. With a matte finish and silky texture it will last hours, including the summer heat.)

Look 4: Beach or Lakeside

This is a look that is elegant and stunning in nature. Perfect for lightweight additional sun coverage, we love pairing a lightweight linen tunic, shirtdress, or kimono over a swimsuit. It’s an elevated look and welcomes all things swim cabanas every time. Paired with a wide brimmed hat and favorite straw bag, you’re ready to read and relax in the sun. Bring on the margs!
