Cider Chai

As a barista in college this was one of my favorite drinks to make. Filled with hearty spices that warm the throat and provide the perfect feeling of home. This recipe features one of the best loose leaf teas I’ve had to date. Steeped in a local cider and sweetened with a bit of honey, it creates a great cup and can simply be made in 3 minutes flat.

Cider Chai

Ingredients:

1 serving

  • 1 t loose leaf chai tea (we purchase ours from Market Spice in Seattle, Pike Place Market
  • 1/2 t local honey
  • 8 oz cold pressed cider
  • Splash of vanilla

Directions:

Begin by bringing cider to 196 degrees fahrenheit. We do this by placing cider in a saucepan with a candy thermometer. Place tea ball with loose leaf tea and allow to steep for 3-5 minutes based on taste. Sweetened with a dollop of honey to taste and a drop of vanilla extract. Grab a book, cozy blanket, and enjoy!
