Fall Essentials for Him

There’s nothing quite like a well dressed gentleman. While women’s styles are trendy by nature, men’s clothing focuses on the details. The right shoe, smart fabrics and layers, and a beautiful watch. It’s the small details in men’s fashion that take it from ordinary to absolutely great. With the fall season comes the return of all things flannel, layers, and classic denim. Not much there has changed. However, we’ve uncovered some amazing essentials for the season. Bring on nights camping, brews by the firepit, and gameday. These looks will take you from boardroom to weekends while repurposing the same timeless pieces over and over again. (For the guy who lives in t-shirts and jeans, we have a few ways to elevate his look as well.)

Fall Essentials for Him

Long Sleeve Pocket Tee:

There’s nothing like a great, ethically sourced basic. This tee is checks all the boxes and can be layered with a blazer, buttoned cardigan, or denim jacket. With an addition of a pocket, there’s a bit more style to an otherwise classic.

Mover Pack:

I’ve loved Everlane for a long, long time. Their new arrivals hit the mark time and time again. If you’re looking for a hack that does heavy duty lifting look no further than the mover pack. I’ve owned both their weekender bag and commuter backpack for years. It makes for the perfect pairing when packing light on international travel without looking like you’re carrying loads of gear (a huge, huge plus for me). When this bag released, I was pumped knowing they had a bag in their line with more carrying capacity. That and it’s ethically made, so you’re doing some good at the same time. While the bag comes in multiple colors, I chose the rust because I’m over waiting for black bags at the luggage carousel and watching multiple people almost walk off with my bag. (We’ve all been there.)

Beard Tonic:

With the fall season summons the arrival of all things facial hair. We’re looking at you No Shave November. Just like you condition the hair on your head, you need to condition the hair on your face. Say goodbye to breakouts and ingrown hairs when you use this stuff. Also, it smells great.

Flannel Lined Trucker Jacket:

With all the Americana vibes, this jacket is perfect paired with classic denim or olive chinos for a dressed up look. Layer with a henley or a button down and look smart.

Better Sweater:

This is by far a favorite outdoors piece and one he’ll live in all season. If you haven’t picked up a better sweater yet, this is one piece you’ll use over and over. Available in multiple heathered shades and a pullover 1/4 zip.

Torpedo Watch:

Rated as the best accessory and gear by Outdoor Magazine for 2017, the Torpedo watch is unlike any other. Built with the outdoors in mind, it is water resistant, offers great visibility with oversized numbers, and a nylon strap. Whether you’ll find yourself on the boat, hiking, camping, or kayaking this fall, this watch does the work.

Danner Vertigo 917 Boot:

There’s nothing more classic than a Danner boot. Finished in cognac leather and black laces, this boot is stunning, rugged, and has a timeless elegance to it. Finished with a Vibram sole and Gore-Tex liner, it is essentially weatherproof and perfect for any terrain.

Short Sleeve Patterned Button Down:

Add a bit of personality to an otherwise basic wardrobe with this shirt from Taylor Stitch. With a classic weave and pattern on navy, it’s a shirt you’ll wear on repeat.

Cotton Button Down:

A classic oxford that is perfect for any meeting. In a light heathered gray and natural fiber, it’s a basic that will be worn on the repeat.

Heavyweight cotton crew:

In between a fleece sweatshirt and summerweight tee, this heavyweight cotton crew is the perfect medium weight for early mornings and fall layers.

Slim Cut Jeans:

No longer a skinny jean, this slim cut denim is ethically sourced, a great price, and mirrors the fit of an updated Levi.

Buffalo Plaid Flannel:

In a classic print and thick fabric, this flannel is great for the outdoors or paired with a blazer a boardroom. We love the buffalo plaid colors of red and black, which looks great on anyone.
