For A Fresh Start: Products that I Swear By

It seems that this time of year we all become inspired to achieve a few goals, to set a new path of what we want out of life. In the past, my life has been full of setting goals, but not really having the motivation or drive to achieve them. I would wonder to myself, “Why didn’t this work?” One thing that I’ve learned along the way is that achieving goals is tremendous work. It wasn’t until recently that I found a system that works for me. Today I thought I’d share with you some of my favorite products that have helped me achieve my goals, not only professionally, but to create a well-balanced life.

1. The Day Designer and Well-Designed Year by Whitney English: I can’t say enough about how much I love this product. This daily planner includes worksheets for personal growth and development, as well as monthly and daily views. In the past with previous planners, I would find all my writing would begin to feel chaotic as there wasn’t enough room for each day. With this planner you receive a full page for each day with both a to-do list and scheduling option. Featuring motivational quotes, spaces for what is due, money, don’t forget, and dinner, you find that what might have been difficult to achieve is more than possible to accomplish. This planner typically sits right on my desk at home. I used it in 2014 and found it to be a resource that I wanted to use again this year. For 2015 I opted to purchase The Well Designed Year. This is a workbook that does some deeper digging into dreams, goals, and legacies. I saw it as the perfect follow-up to a course earlier this year and am excited to dive into this next week.

2. Powersheets by Lara Casey: If you’re looking specifically for a goal setting system that works, look no further than PowerSheets. I use these in conjunction with my Day Designer. Powersheets are perfect because they help you process through why your goals didn’t work last year and how to overcome mindsets that hold you back. Each Powersheet set comes with 6 months of worksheets to allow you to see how the system works for you. Lara also released a book today that puts all of her ideas down on paper, called Make It Happen. Have goals that you wanted to achieve? Are you a to-do list maker but nothing ever gets checked off? Then Powersheets are for you.

3. Wunderlist: I use this app to digitize my tending lists and to-do lists from the Day Designer when I’m away from my desk. Recently Wunderlist has launched a pro edition that is perfect for project management among teams.

4. Evernote: In the app world, this is the perfect note-taking app. Synced on all of my devices, I use this when I have additional notes on projects.

I hope this little round-up of products are helpful to you as you set goals and new routines for the New Year!
