The Perfect White Tee

If you’ve been around the blog for any period of time, you’ve come to learn that I’m someone who loves a good basic. I pretty much live in them. During the past weekend I was given a charge to wear clothing that was far past my norm and as soon as returned home I quickly returned to my favorite- basics. With spring quickly on the horizon (yes and yes), we’re revisiting one of my favorites- the white tee. Today, we’re highlighting three of our absolute favorites. They’re wardrobe staples and worth the investment every time.

When it comes to a white tee, there’s a few qualifiers that make it perfect for me. First let’s talk about the fabric. It needs to be comfy. Forget stiff cottons and polyblends that don’t breath. This shirt is meant for endurance, for layers, and for truly any occassion- it should be soft and one of your favorite things to wear. Second, it needs to have great drape. The kind of tee that hugs and lays on all the right places and skims over the rest. Third-weight of the cotton. Think enough for winter months and thin enough for the most sweltering summer temps. These three tees to it all.

The Perfect White Tee

The Everlane Cotton Crew: With a timeless rounded neck, you’ll wear this shirt on the weekly. If you’ve read often, you know how much I adore Everlane. Offering a transparent and ethical pricing model, they raise the standard on the fashion industry while offering current cuts and on-trend pieces. While some companies I feature only offer items for women, they have a full men’s line as well. (You’re welcome guys.) Think ethically made fashion will bust the bank? Their tees start at $16 so go crazy!

Madewell Whisper Cotton Pocket Tee: We call this tee, the “One that is Somehow Always in the Laundry.” With the perfect pocket and v-neck, burnout texture to the cotton, it’s classic and truly one of the best.

Katy Deep Scoop Tee by Able: When it comes to ethical pieces we love Able and have been layering this tee all winter. With a longer length fitted sleeve and dovetail hem, it allows for movement while still looking elevated.

Tell me. What are you favorite tees?
