Spiced Mulled Wine with Persimmons

Looking for a quick and easy cocktail for a crowd? This cocktail is perfect to make ahead and keep on low in a crockpot throughout the day. With cinnamon and clove, it will make your house smell amazing and kept hot, it’s the perfect cocktail for those snowy, cold days. This mulled wine is slightly different with the addition of a persimmons. With a mild flavor, it mellows out the space and creates subtle nuances of flavor in the spiced wine.

Spiced Mulled Wine with Persimmons

Servings: 6-8

  • 1 bottle of red wine (I used a dry Cabernet)
  • 1 T ground nutmeg
  • 1 t whole cloves
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 sliced persimmons
  • 2 sliced oranges
  • 1 whole orange

Directions:

Begin by pouring wine in crock pot and begin to warm. Stick cloves in the whole orange. Add orange, orange slices, and sliced persimmons to the crockpot. Bring to temperature and allow to simmer. Ladle into your favorite mug, garnish with a round of an orange, and a cinnamon stick. Enjoy by the Christmas tree, wrapped up in your favorite blanket.
