You are Brave and Significant

This Monday comes with it a long list. List of things to improve, to work on, and ones that feel daunting. Maybe you’re there this Monday morning as well. Lately, I’ve been finding myself living in a strange tension. It’s a tension that is hard to describe and articulate, but I’ll try to put words to it here. You know all those things you long to do? The ones that keep you up at night, keep your heart pumping, and the dreams that make you think, “If only…I had the time? The money?” When this starts, I dive into research, wanting to learn and position myself among the experts I know in the field. Then the words come in. Fear and focusing on lack hold me back. The things that say, ” Just lay low. None of this really matters. Why are you trying to do it all? You can’t. Do you see them? Why would you try to compete with that?”

In some odd way, I love being known as the powerful one, the one who can handle anything thrown at her, and do it with great grace and composure. I like to look as if I have it all together. Over the years, it has become my calling card. But what about the days where you don’t feel brave? What if work just feels like work, another Groundhog Day moment passing by?

Can I tell you something this Monday?

Your true self, the fullness of your heart, mind, and emotions that have shown up to your desk today- they are beautiful and incredible. They have stunning balance, incredible paradox, and facets of beauty that lie within. For the days when you don’t feel it, you are brave and significant. For the days where you feel as if you can conquer it all and wear killer heels while doing it, you are brave and significant. For the moments you feel hidden and the moments you feel seen. You are brave and significant.
