This recipe is perfect for days spent by the pool with a great book in hand. With the pairing of soda water and espresso, it is a sophisticated pairing for any coffee conscious palette. If you have a sweet tooth, you can always top the soda with a round of an orange or a vanilla simple syrup.
Coffee Soda
Ingredients:
1 shot of espresso
3-4 ice cubes (made with filtered water)
1 T vanilla simple syrup
6 oz soda water (we love our Sodastream and can’t recommend it enough)
Directions:
Using an Aeropress, begin by filling your kettle to 185 degrees fahrenheit. (We use the Stagg kettle and Fellow Prismo from Fellow products for our espresso setup.) Grind coffee and place in Aeropress. Fill up to the 3 line on your press. Use the paddle and stir for 10 seconds. Then allow to sit for 1 minute. Add the vacuum and press down. Add simple syrup and stir. In a highball glass, place ice cubes. Add coffee and top with soda water. Using a long handled spoon stir to cool the whole drink. Cheers and enjoy poolside!
