The Dude Gift Guide

Hi there everyone! Tis the season and I thought a fun, new series would be perfect. We’re beginning our twelve days of holidays with one of the tasks that I find to be worst-shopping for the men on my list. While shopping for a lady is rather simple, it always seems that my creativity runs dry for the guys. Here are my top picks for the men in your life.

1. Mason Jar Leather Sleeve: a perfect gift for the eco friendly, this adds a bit of personality to the cup and allows you to drink hot beverages without burning your hand. I love the Mason Bar Company or you can do a similar DIY here.

2. Beard Oil: Perfect for any bearded man, Beard Brand’s oil is all natural, conditions a beard, and prevents ingrown hairs. My personal favorite scent is the spiced citrus.

3. A Good Flannel: Timeless in style, a high-quality flannel is a staple for any modern man. This shirt can be dressed up with a blazer, dark denim jean, and wingtips, while being a stand alone piece for everyday wear. This year I’m currently loving J.Crew’s take on this classic.

4. A Timeless Journal: Every guy needs a place to jot his thoughts, notes, and ideas down. A classic black Moleskine does the trick everytime. Beautifully constructed this product never fails to deliver and is a consistent crowd pleaser. If your guy is also in need of a new planner, their 2015 planners, strike a great note of efficiency and deliberate simplicity.

5. A Good Bag: While your guy’s work bag must do some heavy-duty work, there’s no need for it to be lacking in style. As I make this recommendation, know this is an investment piece, but one that is worth every penny and will last years. Click here for one of my new favorite companies, specializing in incredible leather craftsmanship.

6. Purchase His Favorites: I’ve never been a fan of gift cards, but with this I make the exception. Whether it’s the tickets to a sports game, a tasting menu at his favorite restaurant, or the best straight-razor shave of his life, Christmas is a great time to treat someone to things they don’t always afford themselves. The best part? You get to enjoy them with him!

7. A Good Apron: You guy may be a pro in the kitchen, at home-brewing, gardening, studio, or workshop. For this a beautiful utility apron fits the bill. The deliberate simplicity in this apron is  a must-buy. Want to DIY instead? Click here.

I hope you’ve found these gift ideas helpful.

What are some of your favorite things to give to the men in your life?
