Spring Fashion Preview

Around here, spring is in full bloom. This winter has been long, bringing with it weeks of steady rainy and feet of snow. Last week in NorCal, we were all reminded of the stunning beauty that comes with the sunshine and spring weather. It was a week of sunny days, cool breezes off the snow capped mountains, and 70 degree temperatures. Needless to say, spring is here to stay and I couldn’t be more grateful. What about fashion? What trends are here to stay and what are moments that came and went last season?

Classic prints and cuts reimagined.
Much like the menswear pants and styling of last year, expect structured styles, asymmetrical lines, and a classic 90’s vibe to stay. (We’re steering clear of crop tops, but are absolutely loving monotone looks we’re seeing in street style.) Trenches, silk blouses, and rouching are amazing classic elements that are finding moments again this spring, identify movement and softness throughout looks. These lofters from Everlane are everything and we will be wearing them on rotation and our favorite mules from Madewell on repeat.

Black and white dots.
The polka dot is competing with the stripe in a strong way this season. We’ve picked up a few stunning pieces with this pattern and can’t wait to wear them on the streets of Paris. (We’ve picked up this sweet dress from Sezane.)

Playing with transparency.
From the use of lucite and tortoise in stunning earrings to bags, playing with transparency is a fun trend to hop onto simply through accessories.

White is here to stay.
Over the past few years, white has come back with staying power. From white denim to monochrome looks, it’s effortless and easy while being pulled together. (We love these white denim jeans from Everlane and can’t wait to wear them in Paris in a few short weeks.)

Straw texture for spring and summer.
Say hello to oversized and sculpted brims, round bags, and the sweetest small bags. Straw textures are going to make a strong statement this season.

Lilac and Pantone color.
The perfect sweet pastel shade for spring. Lilac was named the color of the year by Pantone in 2018. Whether you pick it up in a nail polish, sweatshirt, or simply a cotton sweater, we love this color and know it’s the perfect addition to your spring wardrobe.

Tell me? What are you favorites for spring? Any trends you can’t wait to try?

We’d love to hear from you. Drop them in the comments below!
