This Weekend

Happy Friday everyone!

Around here it has been a busy week and will prove to be a busy weekend as I prep for a week at the lake off the grid with family next week. I’ll be sitting at my desk closing out deadlines and projects, checking off lists, and getting things done. I’ll take an occasional break for a firepit and a quick dip in the pool, enjoying the simple moments that the weekend has to offer. Whether it’s the simple pleasure of sleeping in, enjoying reading a good book in the hammock, or a fresh latte in the morning, it will be these moments that will bring quality of life to the continued daily grind.

What are you up to this weekend?

A few things I’ve been loving around the internet this week:

We have a plum tree! After cleaning up our yard we discovered we have a tree full of fruit. This sorbet from Joy the Baker looks like the perfect way to use up our plums.

Lately we’ve been on an Asian kick in our house. With authentic Chinese recipes, we’ve been creating light stir frys, vegetarian dishes, and edamame. I’ve been eying these sesame noodles (adapting as zoodles) and these sticky drum sticks.

Inspired by this dinner party, I’m excited to gather friends around the common table and dine at a beautiful location. I’m thinking a dinner party with a stunning vista will be coming soon.

I’ve been wanting to invest in a few basic pieces and have made some great purchases for the summer and fall season. Everlane is one of my go-to brands for affordable and quality basics. You’ll find me living in this tank this summer. (Yes it’s 10 am and 93 degrees already)

Just in case you missed it: this week we explored Castle Lake, made some 3-ingredient peach frozen yogurt, talked about discovering your writing voice, and found a few lessons in a glass of beer.
