How to Wear: Over the Knee Boots

With today being a day dedicated to all things love, I decided to share a winter fashion trend I’ve been loving lately. While I wouldn’t rock this look on an everyday basis, for a special night out there’s something about the over the knee boot trend. It brings in the wow factor, elevating something as simple as skinny jeans or a black silk dress into a head turner. I think that’s why I loved putting together this post so much. You won’t find me hopping onto every winter trend, but after styling these boots three different ways, I must admit that I’m hoping the over the knee boot will have staying power for a few more years to come. (That and with most of your leg covered, you won’t need to worry about keeping your legs warm for the winter weather, which is always a big win.)

Keep reading to see how we style this winter trend three ways after the jump!

Look one: A Night Out

With a simple black sleeveless dress and stunning camel coat, this look is perfect for a night out on the town. Paired with simple minimal gold jewelry and a smart over the shoulder bag, the details are editorial and smart. Paired with a red lip, it says beauty in a timeless and updated way.

Look two: Classic Casual

This look is probably my favorite of the three. You could find me in this outfit on any given day With a pair of high waisted skinnies and a striped drapey tee, it says casual in a stunning and beautiful way. Putting your hair in a topknot adds to the laid back vibe and a popped collar on the coat adds a bit of the prep edge that I love. The loose tee and pale wash of the denim keeps it a bit more laid back, perfect for the weekend or weeknight dinner out.

Look three: For the Winter Weekday

With it being still incredibly chilly in NorCal, I love this look for the layers of warmth it provides. Using a simple heathered tee dress from the summer season, we added a black cocoon walking coat as the completer piece for this look. With a gray knitted beanie and plaid scarf, visual interest and movement is added to the outfit, keeping you nice and warm. We love our basic pieces and can’t wait to surprise folks with a look like this during the workweek. It’s a head turner, but super fun and adds a bit of life to any look.
