A Weekend Getaway at AutoCamp with Booking.com

Our hearts were made for adventure. When my 30th birthday came around last January, there was one desire. I longed to go to AutoCamp and explore. If I’m honest, this summer has been wild in the most extreme ways. We’ve had three wildfires, job transitions, and the usual strain of scaling a business. It has been nothing less than challenging. On some days I feel that I have reached the highest of heights. On others I have found myself in the lowest of lows. After another long week, I decided a getaway was necessary. It was the first time I heard the word “creatively burnt out” come from my mouth since college. The summer had taken its toll and I needed a break.

Why did I choose AutoCamp?

Focusing on an amazing adventure, I wanted a place that I could drive to, and linger. Rest was the focus for this trip. I think we took photographs for less than 30 minutes total. AutoCamp provided the best of camping life, while living in stunning luxury. The park is made of many classic silver Airstreams that have been gutted and outfitted with incredible modern design. AutoCamp is built for outdoor concepts and relaxation in mind. At the bank of the Russian river and situated among a Redwood grove, they have kept the space stunning and honoring the surrounding natural landscape.

The extra touches.

While AutoCamp itself is located in Guerneville, CA, it is surrounded by the beauty of Sonoma County. Within each AirStream, every detail has been thought of from brand partnerships, amazing toiletries, and truly one of the best mattresses I’ve slept on in a while. Each Airstream is outfitted with a stocked kitchenette, microwave, mini fridge, French press, freshly ground Ecuador coffee, and kettle. As it was a belated birthday trip, I found a birthday card and s’mores kit. (Definitely better than a cupcake.) Each site (whether airstream or canvas tent), has outdoor seating for your party and fire pit with great. To keep fires contained, they provide multiple Duraflame logs for clean burning. At the center of AutoCamp, you’ll find a large fire pit and comfy 1 and a half person chairs surrounding the pit. Perfect for lingering with a s’more or glass of wine from an area vineyard.

The clubhouse.

While other places might have a bathhouse on a campsite, this clubhouse is nothing short of phenomenal. There are games, a stunning modern, library of books to choose from, swing chairs, vertically mounted fireplace, and a coffee/breakfast bar for the mornings. Every detail within this space has architectural intentionality and interior/exterior living in mind. From the furnishings, to the stunning breakfast of homemade crissonants and fruit, to the bathroom, it’s an architectural dream.

The grounds

Based on the season and weather, AutoCamp has built the best parts of camping experiences without all the work. Around the back side of the property you will find creek access for a quick swim in the river, outdoor games, and the sweetest bikes to use during your stay. Head to the front of the property and enjoy a good book on the hammock under the string lights.

Now it’s your turn. We loved every bit of our stay at AutoCamp. Even when staying one night, it was easy to unwind, unplug, and enjoy everything the stay has to offer.
