With the onset of fall means one thing, cooler temps and the able to add layers! I can’t tell you how much I love fall and around here our fall season usually comes around November with a rainy season. I’ve adapted the way I wear fall trends accordingly (our average September and October temps in NorCal are usually between 80-90 degrees). Because of this, I absolutely love the trench vest trend that has surfaced this fall season. I purchased one from Target and wear it often. This basic piece, adds layering, lightweight comfort, and a bit of extra structure to any outfit. With a deep olive color it has replaced my military jacket until the winter months. Paired with dark jeans and boots it’s perfect for a casual day at the office or layered with a tee dress is perfect for running any client meetings I might have.
Keep reading for three ways to wear this fall trend after the jump!
Look one: Casual Day at the Office
Adding some structure to a relatively simple look, the trench layer makes a tee and distressed jeans look polished. Paired with a heeled cognac zipped bootie, it elevates your look from casual to one that goes from the day to the evening. Finished off with a Giving Key and some basic jewelry, this look is effortless and simple.
Look two: Client meetings
For client meetings, I love looking polished and put together. As a creative, I’m not expected to look as dressed up and formal as a typical business executive, but keep things put together with a great tee dress and statement necklace. This is a favorite look and is perfect for the days where I have meetings back-to-back. (Not to mention, staying cool with summer temps.) These wedges are a fall staple for me. In a great nude color, they’re beautiful, look great with dresses or jeans, and are super comfortable. I can wear them for 9-10 hours without feeling any pain. If there’s one shoe you need to add to your wardrobe this fall, it’s this one. I’ve had these shoes for three seasons and still love them just as much as the day I bought them.
Look three: For the Weekend
This season, you’ll find that the 90’s fashion trend is in full force, as are simple basics. This look keeps things relaxed and chill, perfect for mornings at the farmers market, relaxing around the house, or where any adventures may take you. I purchased these jeans from Madewell recently and absolutely love them. The knee-rips keeps the look current and adds a bit of edge. Paired with classic black suede birkenstocks, bring on the long weekend.
