When it comes to fall gatherings, I love having a special drink for guests prior to dinner. It creates the perfect note of celebration and kicking off a long meal around the table with loved ones. For this year’s signature cocktail, I combined a few of my favorites. With fall tastes of apple, the crisp finish and burn of a Kentucky bourbon, and the old fashioned, it’s my take that I’m affectionately calling “the new fashioned.”
Ingredients:
- 2 oz of high quality Kentucky Bourbon (I used Bulleit bourbon)
- 6 oz apple cider
- Ice
- Cinnamon stick
- A few rounds of apple
- A few rounds of orange
Directions:
Fill your glass with ice. Add bourbon and apple cider. Stir with cinnamon stick. Add rounds of apple and orange. Raise a glass and find yourself grateful for the growth, progress, and good things you’ve found this year.
This year I was contacted by fellow bloggers to join Blogsgiving Dinner. During the course of the week, bloggers from all over the country have been contributing various recipes for a virtual dinner of big proportions. You can find all of other the recipes here and here.
