A Mid Season Capsule

When it comes to the late days of summer, I always find myself living in a unique tension. I love the fashions for early fall, but find myself still in the sweltering days of summer. In light of this I was inspired to go through my closet and put together a mid-season capsule. With neutrals that usher in fall and bid farewell to the final days of summer oh so perfectly.

Keep reading for the full capsule after the jump!

Lightweight Plaid Top: Perfect for summertime and early fall, we love our Rails shirt. Layer over a graphic tank for hiking or button up with rolled up sleeves and cut offs.

Silk V-Neck Cami: We love basics and this piece is perfect for layering in summertime. With sweltering summer days, layer delicate gold pieces and rings for visual interest while keeping things light.

Grid Tie Top: Ties are back with staying power this fall. Ready to ditch the gather on a tee and make a bit more of statement. Try out the trend with this affordable top.

Olive Jacket: We love this drapey jacket. It is the perfect note of architecture and drape. Over a slip dress, cami, or black midi dress, it’s absolutely stunning.

Distressed Jean: I’ve been eyeing a distressed olive pant for a while now. These jeans are absolutely perfect. With a medium rise, soft denim, and skinny fit, they look smart with almost any combination from chambray to royal blue, to a casual tank and straw hat, it’s a great basic to add to your closet.

Denim Skirt: Remember that denim skirt you lived in as a kid? They’re back and coming in every wash, shape, and style. Paired with basics, it looks smart, fresh, and young. Thinking the style is a bit too much of a throwback? Go with a pencil shape and avoid button downs or snap minis.

Black Jumpsuit: We love our black jumpsuit and go to it time and time again. With flat sandals, it’s an approachable and polished look. With heeled sandals, it’s a smart look for a date night or night out on the town.

Black Heels: You’ve seen these shoes everywhere and with good reason. They’re comfortable, classic and can be paired with anything from skirts to skinnies and smart dresses. With a suede finish, they seamlessly transition to fall.

Gray Crossbody Bag: Play with color and neutrals with this bag. Worn as a crossbody or on your forearm, it says polish and class effortlessly. Due to it’s size, it can hold all of your daily essentials with a fresh approach on a tote bag.

Leather Clutch: This clutch is on point. With geometric handles and a rich mustard color, it’s perfect for the fall season. Pair it with your favorite heels, skinnies, and olive jacket for a look that’s smart and looks amazing.

Bridge Sandal: I picked these up from the Everlane showroom on my trip to New York. I’ve worn them every single day since I purchased them. Probably my favorite purchase of the trip. I was hunting for a sandal that hit the perfect note between sporty and a dressy sandal. By purchasing the black option, I keeps the look elevated. I can’t recommend these sandals more.

Leather Mules: Last summer the mule trend was introduced and has proven its staying power. I love these mules in a nude finish. With a leather upper and wooden stacked heel they’re super comfortable, paired with crop jeans, skirts, and dresses.
